The Botanical Garden  is the oldest from the country , relaxation and resting place. The very beginnings of the Botanical Garden from Iasi date since XVII century. In the 1960 the Botanical Garden was built on the actual location having a surface of 105 ha, being one of the biggest gardens in the world. The Greenhouses Sector comprises 12 departments, each having its specific features: Mediterranean, tropical, subtropical ( cactuses, palm trees, banana trees, cedrate etc ) plants, numerous ornamental flowers, (azaleas, camellia, chrysanthemum, orchids, etc), and a collection of cicadaceae (live fossils). The ornamental sector has a surface of 4.5 ha and has 2200 unique classification groups or 25 collections. This comprises a varied series of decorative plants, herbaceous and ligneous, which constitute a permanent exhibition. The Rozarium department gathers 800 kinds of roses.
